Mickey Angst Report 338 03/01/14
The Times News three reports on what occurred at Thursday night’s PV school board meeting fairly well covered the meeting and with accuracy. Missing, of course, were reports of some of my no votes, seven of them on bills I always give a no vote and of course the dealings with Portnoff. Missing also was my end of meeting remark about looking forward to voting on a NO TAX INCREASE BUDGET. This was because we had voted on items that cut over $350,000 from the proposed budget and that should be enough to eliminate any tax increase. I was a bit mystified that there was not any boasting from the majority directors on the big savings items. That makes me believe they are still going to try to past a budget with an unnecessary tax increase.
I was disappointed that the only new citizen in the crowd of seven citizens was the lady complaining of the book with some nasty stuff that was in our library and two others in her company. There was no one there complaining of the building project or to push for use of the LCCC classrooms near CVS.

We now have our agenda for tomorrow night’s regular voting meeting of the school board at 7pm with an executive session at 6pm. We actually have legal agendas for both meetings. As I get closer to my resignation day I take satisfaction in helping to stop the wrongs like reviewing and revising the entire agenda in executive session.
Highlights of the agenda were covered in a previous report. I’m sure that $356,850.00 savings by reducing the outsourcing so many students will get a unanimous vote. There are many jobs to be filled including a replacement for the former JROTC instructor.
I regularly am getting phone calls regarding the federal law suits and some of the other board members have been interviewed by the various lawyers. I have been contacted regarding using the former LCCC classrooms next to CVS instead of spending millions for an addition in the high school pool area. I do see problems with that and much prefer taking back the former Lansford High School Building and renovating it but I will never get four more votes for that.
I have been disappointed in the lack of citizens at our school board meetings. Even the Truth Agents that constantly beg for citizens to attend and demand my resignation have been failing at that. Maybe the thought of avoiding a tax increase will get some citizen attention.
